Assignment notifications can be configured for a template or document instance via the Template Maintenance or Document Assembly pages respectively. A typical assignment notification configuration is shown below.
The following options are available:
Send New Assignment Notifications: An email notification will be generated to the user whenever a new assignment is generated for the selected assignment types.
Send Reviewer Notifications: Will cause an email notification to be generated to a reviewer in the following scenarios: * When an Owner or Co-Author completes an assignment then the first reviewer (if any exists), i.e. the reviewer with the lowest specified order, will receive an email notification. * When a Reviewer completes an assignment then the next reviewer (if any exists), based upon the specified reviewer order, will receive an email notification e.g. when Reviewer 1 completes their assignment then Reviewer 2 will receive a notification.
Note that it is possible to have multiple reviewers at a specified order - e.g. 2 reviewers both with an order of 2 - in this example both reviewers would receive an email notification when reviewer 1 completes their assignment.
First, Second and Third Incomplete Assignment Reminders: An email notification will be generated to the user if their assignment has not been marked as complete by the specified number of days before the assignment due date, for the selected assignment types. Note that an assignment must have a due date for an assignment reminder to be generated.
Examples of 3 different email notifications are shown below. If the user clicks on the link in the email then Doc Assembler will open up the Assignment List for the document that contains the item that the assignment applies to.
[^1] Note that the name use to describe collaborators can be customised on a per site basis. The default value is "Co-Author", however it is possible that it is different for your site.
